The moorings follow a four-point system, there are also electric and water points. Facilities include a fuelling pontoon, waste-water pump-out system, port of entry/exit and all the services of the town. The marina is sheltered and directly on the Gulf of Aqaba, Red Sea, in an excellent location serving both Aqaba town and Jordan. Jordan Projects for Tourism Development was established by a group of anchor investors in October 2000, who joined together and later became a public shareholding company.
The five major investors of JPTD are; Abujaber Investment, Orascom Projects for Touristic Development, Zara Investments, Social Security Corporation, Al Haqq Establishment. This co-operative alliance is based on the shareholders' vision of introducing the concept of comprehensive resorts to Jordan as a unique destination in the region, which will move tourism in Jordan to the next level.
